Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information cntrst collects, why we collect it, how we look after it, and what you can ask us to do with it. It applies to this website, to the calls you book with us, and to any other contact we have with you. We've kept it short because we collect very little.

Who we are

This website is run by Contrast Co., the company behind the cntrst brand. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean Contrast Co. You can reach us at hello@cntrst.co.

What we collect

Information you give us. When you use our forms, we collect what you choose to send:

• When you book a call: your name, email address, Instagram handle, YouTube handle (if you add one), and additional information you provide us with. You also pick a time slot.
• When you contact us: your name, email address, phone number (if you add one), and your message.

Publicly available information. We may also look at information that's publicly available about you or your business, such as your public social media profiles and posts, audience figures shown on those profiles, your business website, and business contact details you've published. We only use sources that are open to anyone, and we don't buy contact lists.

Technical information. Like almost every website, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information when a page loads, such as your IP address and browser type. We don't use this to identify you.

How we use it

We use your information to:

• prepare for the call you booked and run it;
• reply to your messages;
• understand your business and get in touch about how we might be able to help;
• keep a record of where each conversation stands in our customer relationship management (CRM) tool so nothing gets missed;
• keep this website secure and working properly.

We don't send newsletters, we don't sell your information, and we don't share it with anyone for their own use.

Our legal basis for using it

If you're in the UK or the European Economic Area, the law requires us to name a legal basis for each use. Ours are:

• Steps you ask us to take before working together. This covers booking and preparing for your call and replying to your messages.
• Legitimate interests. This covers understanding publicly available information about businesses we think we can help, contacting them about our services, keeping track of our conversations in our CRM, and keeping the website secure. We only rely on this where our interests aren't outweighed by yours, and you can object at any time.
• Legal obligations. This covers records we must keep, for example for tax and accounting, and responding to lawful requests from authorities.

Who else handles it

We use a small number of trusted services to run this website and our calls. They process your information on our behalf and only for the purposes above:

• Netlify hosts the website and receives the forms you submit.
• Cal.com runs the booking calendar and sends your calendar invite.
• Google provides our email and the Google Meet link for your call.
• Our CRM provider stores the record of our conversation.

We may also share information if the law requires it, for example in response to a valid request from a court or government authority, or where it's needed to protect our legal rights.

If our business is restructured, merged or sold, including when Contrast Co. completes its registration, your information may be transferred to the business that continues our work. It will stay protected by this policy.

International transfers

Some of these services store data outside your country, including in the United States. Where that happens, they use recognised safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep it

If we end up working together, we keep your information for as long as we work together, and afterwards only as long as the law requires for things like accounting records.

If we don't end up working together, we delete your information from our forms, calendar and CRM within 90 days of our last contact. If you ask us not to contact you again, we keep only your name and contact details on a do-not-contact list, so we can make sure we respect that request.

Keeping it secure

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, such as access controls and trusted, secure providers. No method of storing or sending information online is completely secure, but we work to keep the risk low and will act quickly if anything goes wrong.

Cookies and tracking

We don't use analytics, advertising pixels or tracking cookies. The booking page keeps the details you entered in your browser for that visit only, so you don't have to retype them if you refresh. They're cleared once you finish booking or close the tab. The Cal.com calendar may use its own strictly necessary storage to work.

Your rights

Wherever you are, you can ask us to:

• tell you what information we hold about you and send you a copy;
• correct anything that's wrong;
• delete your information;
• limit how we use it, or stop using it;
• stop contacting you. We'll do this straight away, whenever you ask.

If you're in the UK or EEA, you can also ask for a copy in a portable format, and you have the right to complain to your local data protection authority. If you're in California or another US state with a privacy law, you have similar rights to know, correct and delete your information. We don't sell or share personal information as those laws define it.

We won't treat you differently for using any of these rights, and we don't make decisions about you based solely on automated processing. Some rights have limits, for example where the law requires us to keep a record, and we'll explain if one applies.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. If a change affects how we use information you've already given us, we'll tell you directly.
